Lately this has been my #1 question. I had no idea that many of you used this app. Let me tell you all this is my favorite app I have. I am working on it. But it is also the most work of all the 2.0 ports. Much of the work I have done in BossPrefs and Poof have been to support Categories. Unfortunately, I still have more work on those apps to make it right.
For those that don’t know, Categories provides the ability to create folder icons on your SpringBoard and move the apps into it eliminating the clutter. Here is a picture of my 1.1.4 iPhone SpringBoard running categories. This is the only page and I have 90 apps installed. See the folders icons:

Categories will be delivered in two stages:
Stage 1) Deliver the main categories GUI that allows to create folders and move apps into it. These folders are launcher apps that run and let you launch the apps you have “moved” into the folder. In stage 1, the launcher app will be rudimentary, ugly, and not very cool. It will probably be a list of apps sort of how poof used to look and you just tap the row to launch the app. This will be the fastest way I can get the app out. The launcher for stage one will probably look something like this:

Stage 2) Deliver the categories launcher. This is a proper looking launcher that looks something like springboard, supports themes, backgrounds etc. Here are some screenshots of how it may look:

Q: Will Categories support AppStore apps?
A: Yes!
Q: When will stage 1 be delivered?
A: I planned to have it ready this week, but installer 4 work will put a delay on that.
Q: Will Categories support webclips?
A: Still not at first. This is more complicated that I originally thought.
Q: I hate you BigBoss.
A: I know.
Q: Will Categories support Winterboard Themes?
A: Yes! Winterboard is very powerful and will be supported.
